Head Coach
Rick Hawkins has been coaching cross country since 2000. He started his career as head cross country coach and head track coach at Watkins Mill High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In 2004, he began coaching and teaching math at Conestoga. He has coached both cross country and distance for track and field during his career at Conestoga. Coach Hawkins is very dedicated to his runners and operates his program as a family. Much of the focus of his program is on the balance between training and competition. He also likes to foster sportsmanship, virtue, and honor amongst the team. His goals are to create fit, competitive, and honorable athletes.
Assistant Coach
Coach Rives has been coaching Cross County since 2017. He is deeply committed to fostering resilience, determination, and honor within the athletes. He believes that a strong mental will, physical fitness, and humility is critical in achieving success with honor. He is also a mathematics teacher at Conestoga and has been there for 11 years.
Assistant Coach
Coach Redlus has been a lifelong runner and a Cross Country Coach at Conestoga since 2022. She was a PIAA AAA Individual State Champion in Cross Country and a 2 time NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Team Champion while at Villanova University. Cross Country has taught her how to be disciplined, determined, work within a team, take direction and adjust when needed. Coach Redlus' goal is to help teach the team these same values while learning about the importance of nutrition, health and fitness.
Assistant Coach
Justin Beasley-Turner is an assistant coach with the Conestoga High School Cross Country team. Justin is a lifelong runner who competed for Pottstown High School, Moravian College as an undergraduate, and West Chester University as a graduate. While at Moravian College, Justin earned conference honors and a place on the program's all-time 8k list. As a member of the Conestoga High School Coaching staff, Justin is excited to support our athletes to be their best selves and learn lifelong lessons to carry with them outside of the sport. His goals are to contribute to the fun, competitive, and supportive culture of Conestoga XC and do his part in helping each athlete achieve their goals on their running journey.
